Oncology Portfolio

VINBLASTINE: Chemotherapy medication used to treat a number of types of cancer including: Hodgkin’s lymphoma, non-small cell lung cancer, bladder cancer, brain cancer, and testicular cancer among others. Used intravenously and works by inhibiting mitosis.

VINCRISTINE: Chemotherapy medication used to treat a number of types of cancers, including acute lymphocytic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, neuroblastoma, and small cell lung cancer among others. Given intravenously.

METHOTREXATE: Chemotherapy medication used in treatment of certain cancers (including cancer of the blood, bone, lung, breast, head, and neck). Can also treat severe psoriasis and adult rheumatoid arthritis.

METRONIDAZOLE: Metronidazole is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina, stomach, skin, joints and respiratory tract.

VANCOMYCIN: Antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the intestines caused by Clostridium difficile which can cause watery or bloody diarrhea.  Also used to treat staph infections that can cause inflammation of the colon and small intestines.

NEBUPENT: (Pentamidine) is an antifungal medication that fights infections caused by fungus. Pentamidine is used to prevent and treat pneumonia caused by Pneumocystis jiroveci (carinii).

ACICLOVIR: Acyclovir is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus in the body. It will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection. Acyclovir is used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses such as genital herpes, cold sores, shingles and chicken pox.

NYSTATIN/TRIAMCIONLONE: Combination of Nystatin and Triamcinolone is used to treat fungal skin infections. Relieves itching, inflammation and pain.
